Anyone who works for Trump who has not submitted their resignations by 9 AM should be shunned. Cruz and Hawley should be expelled from the Senate forthwith. Trump should be removed.

Democrats won both Georgia Senate seats — and with them, the U.S. Senate majority — as final votes were counted Wednesday, serving President Donald Trump a stunning defeat in his last days in office while dramatically improving the fate of President-elect Joe Biden’s progressive agenda.

Jon Ossoff and Raphael Warnock, Democratic challengers who represented the diversity of their party’s evolving coalition, defeated Republicans David Perdue and Kelly Loeffler two months after Biden became the first Democratic presidential candidate to carry the state since 1992.

The fun fact is that the racists in Georgia, decades ago, designed the runoff system as a way to hold control. If Georgia ran their race like every other state, Perdue would have won.

In dramatic scenes, demonstrators swarmed near the building, as Congress members were escorted out by police.

This is Trump's doing and, frankly, if you have been supporting Trump's bullshit since Election Day, this is on you, as well.

We are seeing, in real time, that Trump's people are not standing for our democracy.

The hypocrisy of every right-winger who was decrying the BLM protests over the summer has been dragged out into the sunlight.

And once the Capitol is cleared out of these thugs, let's impeach and convict Trump of inciting a riot before tomorrow's sun sets.

ETA: to Hawley, Cruz, and the rest of the Caucus of Sedition: You could have not done what you did and not turned a ceremonial occaision into political theater, but you did. Absent your pandering to Trump, this riot might not have happened. This riot is on your bloody hands, as well.

Scotland to Trump: "Stay the Fuck Home!"

Scotland's first minister says Donald Trump shouldn't travel to the country to play golf.

Commenting on reports that the US president may be planning such a trip, Nicola Sturgeon said only essential travel was allowed because of the coronavirus pandemic.

There has been media speculation that Mr Trump may be planning a trip to Scotland to avoid attending the inauguration of President-elect Joe Biden on 20 January.

This comes from a report that a Special Air Mission USAF 757 will fly to Scotland on the 19th.

None of this is surprising. Trump is both infantile and a sore loser. The adult thing would be to sack up and honor tradition by appearing for the swearing in, which Howard Taft, Herbert Hoover, Jimmy Carter and George H.W. Bush all did. Because they were men with some semblance of personal honor and decency; things that will never be said about that deranged sack of offal named Trump.

A New York City mall was evacuated Monday morning after a hoax device made to look like an explosive was found in a vehicle parked on a ramp in a parking garage, police said.

A self-described “American nationalist” suspected of leaving a hoax explosive device in a car at a New York City mall has turned himself in to police, a law enforcement official said.

Louis Shenker, 22, surrendered to officers around 3 a.m. Tuesday in Brooklyn, according to the official, who was not authorized to speak publicly and did so on condition of anonymity. No charges have been announced.

Shenker has appeared on the online conspiracy show InfoWars and has filled his social media accounts with far-right views and buzzwords like “#MAGA” and “#StopTheSteal,” noting his support of Trump’s false claim that the 2020 presidential election was rigged.

He'll have a harder time calling into Infowars from one of the state's long-term crossbar hotels, a place he's going to likely be for the next twenty or so years. Provided he doesn't get shanked along the way.

Still, one has to wonder just what the hell he was trying to achieve.

On Monday, Metropolitan police arrested Proud Boys leader Henry “Enrique” Tarrio, and charged him with destruction of property related to an earlier protest. Tarrio was “in possession of two high capacity firearm magazines” at the time of arrest, a police statement said, and charged with that possession offense as well.

That is Trump-grade arrogance. Tarrio earlier admitted publicly to burning a BLM banner that was taken from a church and dared the cops to arrest him. And so they did, but apparently, he didn't really believe that they would, or why else would he allegedly have large-capacity magazines, which everyone with a pulse knows that are illegal to possess in D.C.?

Washington is pretty much locking down in advance of the upcoming neo-nazi riot. Word I've gotten is that the agencies are ordering their workers to "telework" today and tomorrow, with the possibility of extending the order an additional day.

Meanwhile, that flaming liberal, George F. Will, calls the senators voting for Trump's coup the most dangerous domestic enemies that the nation is facing.

Also, a judge is considering referring one of the Trumpist lawyers for discipline for filing bullshit pleadings and ignoring a court order. So add that to the list of Trumpist losses in court.

Traitor Ted, AKA the Canadien Usurper, Has Never Met a Mob He Doesn't Want to Lead

When it's too much for Trump's Premier Buttlicker, one knows that it's gone too far:

Republican Sen. Lindsey Graham is calling the effort by Sen. Ted Cruz and other Republican senators to overturn the presidential election a “dodge” that doesn’t go far enough in helping President Donald Trump.

Graham said in a statement Sunday that Cruz has a “high bar” to show there was evidence of problems with the election. The South Carolina senator also said Cruz’s proposal has “zero chance of becoming reality.”

Not that what Cruz and his pack of rabid monkeys are doing isn't destructive to the nation, no, no, Graham doesn't give a fuck about that. It's only that Cruz is going to fail.

Funny thing about how, just a year ago, Republicans were decrying impeachment as an attempt to overturn the will of the voters. This was that pathetic asswipe, Josh Hawley, a year ago:

“The consequences to the republic of overturning an election because you don’t like the result,” he said then, “and because you believe that that election was somehow corrupted, when in fact, the evidence shows that it was not … that’s an interesting approach. I think it’s crazy, frankly.”

But they're fine with overturning the results of this election? They're already just fine with Trump trying to steal the outcome in Georgia, after multiple recounts and audits.

As a side note, it's also amusing that Cruz is going so far for Trump. Trump accused Cruz of voter fraud, said that his dad was involved in JFK's assassination, and implied that Cruz's wife is ugly, but Cruz has been one of Trump's most loyal boot-licking senators, maybe second or third behind Miss Lindsey. Which suggests that Cruz has no sense of self-worth, but we need not go there.

The insanity here is that none of these assholes seem to be bothered by asking, if there was a concerted effort to steal the election, why so many Republicans won. If there was a nationwhide steal, why did Collins win in Maine? Why didn't Georgia's pair of stock-manipulating senators, Perdue and Loeffler, lose outright? Why would the attempt to steal the election stop at the top job?

It makes no sense, but that won't stop the Party of Fascism from this attempt to steal the election.

Make no mistake, for that's what's happened-- the Republicans have become the party of Fascism. They seek to throw out an election judged by the courts, Trumps' own AG and every dispassionate observer that the election was free and fair. Those who foretorld that fascism would arrive, wrapping itself in the Flag and waving around a cross, had the right of it.

You can either be a patriotic American or a Republican. You cannot be both.
