You go into an election with the candidates you have, not the candidates that you may want to have had or that you would have had if you did the process over.
We are now going to enter into a contest about which candidate is the worst and why you shouldn't vote for him. Not exactly the sort of stuff that generates turnout.
I'm pretty sure we won't see a second presidential debate. The TOFF won't want to risk looking more like a lying dictator wannabee than he already does and Joe Biden won't want to run the chance of driving home his image as a really old guy.
