New Heater Update - IV

(Previous post)

The new gun is here. I'm not posting a photo as it looks exactly like the first one.

By eye, it appears that this one doesn't have the same issues, but the proof will be in the shooting and I have not had time for that. I did check the timing before putting it into the safe, that looks OK.

It's kind of a low priority. There is other stuff going in in my circle that is (a) not good, and (b) not something I'm willing to share at the present time, if ever.

Hopefully issues get sorted and you can get some range time in!

Here is to an uncluttered life. May it all come out to be sunshine and kittens.

As a complete non-gunny I ask: what is "timing" when it comes to a gun?

Also, hope the whatevers get better, and soon.

The sequence, basically is this:

When you begin to squeeze the trigger, the cylinder bolt drops out. The hand comes out from the cylinder shield and begins to rotate the cylinder. As the cylinder rotates, the bolt rises to contact the cylinder. It rides down into a little ramp and then into the cylinder notch, holding it in place.

This has to happen before the hammer drops. If it doesn't, then the gun is "out of time".

Ah. Thank you, Comrade. It's still mostly https://ibb.co/QCtmvVr to me, not having one in front of me, but I can see that that was a detailed description.

Gray fox, this video, while not the best, does an adequate job in showing and explaining how a revolver functions.
