Defense Secretary Jim Mattis is stepping down from his post, President* Donald Trump announced Thursday, after the retired Marine general clashed with the president over a troop drawdown in Syria and Trump’s go-it-alone stance in world affairs.The Russians can't be bothered to hide their satisfaction. They seemed to have gotten a lot for their money.

“Because you have the right to have a secretary of defense whose views are better aligned with yours on these and other subjects, I believe it is right for me to step down from my position,” Mattis wrote.
(Mattis's letter to Trump. Which is too long for Trump to bother to read and he won't, because his name isn't in every paragraph.)

One should not hire an expert and then ignore his advice.
Especially when he can retire and live comfortably.
Well there goes the last adult in the administration.
