President-elect Donald Trump said Monday that he will issue executive orders imposing new tariffs on all imported goods from China, Mexico and Canada, the nation’s three largest trading partners, upon returning to the White House.
Once people realize that prices on almost everything will be going up, the rush to get shit while the getting's good will be on. If that happens, look for sales on stuff to go away.
And if anyone you know is a Trump voter or didn't vote and they complain about it, tell them "Toyota" if they're old or that now they're finding out if they're young.

Either all of this is kayfabe and they'll declare a victory after some symbolic moves or OMG!!. My guess is that they'll fabricate a W and move on but the potential for OMG is very much on the table given the players involved.
When the rubes start hemorrhaging money at the cash register maybe

What he says, and what he ultimately does may be two different things, but companies cannot trust that he is lying (oh the irony), so they must act on what he says, in order to protect their business. This will ripple through the markets, and even if nothing happens, it already has.

When the stuff does hit the fan and the prices jump up again the reich wing media will be telling the gullible rubes it's still Biden's, Obama's, Soros' and the Deep State's fault. Yeah , remember when Reagan imposed a tariff on motorcycles , to save Harley Davidson ? All the prices doubled and tripled on all motorcycles.
Harley's are still expensive and the Japanese bikes are still better and less expensive.
Toyota made the world's best mini truck, so our gov put a tax on them. Detroit tried copying them but failed miserably. All vehicles went up astronomically too.
The Trump's, including Eric The Dumber on Faux News, are now stating that the tariffs will halt the smuggling into the country of drugs especially fentanyl by imposing the tariffs on goods coming from other countries. Not only do they not understand that tariffs are taxes on things coming in and paid by the receiver but that drug smugglers do just what their name implies, they smuggle to avoid taxes or the laws prohibiting what they are bringing in. It's going to be another rough four years with a combination of 1984, Idiocracy and The Hand Maids Tale.
