Name the Only Functioning Democratic State in the Middle East and North Africa

Not so much if you're not Jewish, even if you are a non-Jewish citizen, much less a DP of some of its conquered force majeure territory, pursuing Israel's own mountains to the seas irredentism. Or asking for justice or the rule of any law other than lex talonis. Given that its original grant, the Balfour Declaration, states:

You must admit that its second half has been utterly violated. If we ask of Israel some semblance of morality, rule of law and the Geneva Conventions, it is because it was founded with an idealistic vision and utterly fell from that grace.
Nobody's hands are clean in all of this, for sure. But killing 23 Palestinians for each Israeli death may win in the short term, it admits of no peace in Israel's 75 years.; 5/28/2024 9:17 AM
