Because "Tolerance" and "Acceptance" Are Not Conservative Christian Values

Administrators at a Wisconsin elementary school stopped a first-grade class from performing a Miley Cyrus and Dolly Parton duet promoting LGBTQ acceptance because the song “could be perceived as controversial.”

Students at Heyer Elementary School in Waukesha had prepared a rendition of “Rainbowland” for their spring concert, but school officials struck the song from the lineup last week. Parents in the district say the decision was made because the song encourages LGBTQ acceptance and references rainbows.

Superintendent James Sebert, who did not immediately return a call on Monday, confirmed to Fox6 that administrators had removed “Rainbowland” from the first-grade concert because it might not be “appropriate for the age and maturity level of the students.” He also cited a school board policy against raising controversial issues in classrooms.

I propose a new motto: "Waukesha, the City That Is Not Too Busy to Hate". Sebert seems to be one of those far-right lunatics who is dedicated to making sure that his students never learn anything that might make white people uncomfortable. So it's probably a safe bet that his schools don't teach very much about slavery or killing off Indians. He probably has his teachers perpetuate the "states' rights" lie about the Civil War and they gloss over the civil rights movements.

You'd expect this sort of stupid horseshit of Florida.

One would think if they took this way of thinking further then they would ban "The Star Spangled Banner" because it encourages shooting rockets and using bombs. Isn't that the first thing a first grader thinks of after learning the song?

Perhaps they see the insidious and relentless attempts to subvert and groom the children for what they really are.
It's gone WAY beyond "Tolerance and Acceptance".

I would have expected a "grooming" comment from somebody on the Banhammer list. Not from you.

Seems to me that the largest organization of "groomers" worldwide has been the Roman Catholic Church, so why not close all of the Catholic schools?

"why not close all of the Catholic schools"

I got no issue with that either. At least keep priests away from the kids.

Grooming is a concept. They are grooming us to believe things
without it in evidence or fact.

As to tolerance and acceptance I rather like the old saw....
MYOB, its not your problem.

The greatest fear that conservatives and even more so the reactionaries have is of change. They see the world changing and now, more acceptance of gays, people of a different color and different religions as a threat to their way of thinking. The only thing the can do trying to allay their fears is to lash out and call names, make accusations and stir dissent. In other words just plain intolerant.

Why would anybody want to promote homosexuality to young children?
Why would anybody want to sing a song overtly about sex to young children?
The answer is too obvious to be considered "polite" here.

McCluck, I am presuming from your comment that you've neither heard the song "Rainbowland" nor read the lyrics.

Here you go.
