Damn it, Comrade...led on another chase down the internet rabbit hole as I investigated the effectiveness of the SU-25 vs the A-10. Not too much data, but it strikes me that the A-10 is very much the Panther to the SU-25's T-34/Sherman. Smaller, faster, less capacity (range, payload and combat options) but robust and plentiful. Of course, the Russkies pulled the SU-25's out of Syria and replaced them with KA-50/52's, cause the Frogfoot's don't have the anti-MANPADS system the choppers do. The SM3 upgrade will fix that, if the Risskies can drum up the funds.
