I went to see Amy Goodman speak in Victoria, the day after this happened. I have never heard of this happening to a journalist entering Canada, ever. (I have heard of Canadian journalists getting the 3rd degree or being refused entry outright to the USA, but that doesn't make this right, as some knuckledraggers commented in my local paper). Stephen Harper tries his best to be a Littler Bush, but it also seemed that the 2010 Olympics were a matter of indifference to the Federal government. Until now.
Amy Goodman spoke well. She didn't dwell on this incident much; spent about as much time talking about the time she was arrested during the RNC.
