Rep. Pete Stark: "You don't have money to fund the war or children. But you're going to spend it to blow up innocent people if we can get enough kids to grow old enough for you to send to Iraq to get their heads blown off for the president's amusement."
Yes, that's a little over the top, rhetoric-wise. But it is nonetheless true. Republicans, especially George W. Bush, are all about killing people. Whether it's sending people to be executed (and mocking them) or sending people to die in useless wars, George Bush is nothing more than a remote-control serial killer.
And as for the conservatives, they are all for seeing people suffer. Going to hound the poor parents of a two-year old who had heart surgery, as a certain soulless conservative commentator recently did, betrays nothing but an utter lack of humanity.
We are currently spending about $10 billion dollars a month in Iraq. Count "one thousand one" and put 38 C-notes on your coffee table. One-thousand-two, another 38 C notes. Over $3,800 a second, and that doesn't count Afghanistan, drop another six C-notes a second to pay for that war. $12 billion a month and we can't find some money to help out the working poor and lower middle-class kids for health insurance?
Besides that, if the only kids who can get decent health coverage are those of the upper middle class and the rich, then who is going to fight our wars? You don't see any of Chimpy's younger relatives rushing down to the recruiting office to sign up. You don't see RoboMitt's spawn going down to get fitted for a set of ACUs. If we don't have healthy kids across the economic spectrum, we are going to run out of cannon fodder for Chimpy's wars.
