Charging These Down, Here
Presidents can now be married 3 times, have children from 3 different women, pay porn stars for sex while being married & still have 71% of the Evangelical Christian family values vote.

Putin’s Big Loss Today
Finland is poised to join NATO on Tuesday, a historic realignment brought on by Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, but the head of the military alliance said it would not send more troops to the Nordic country unless it asked for help.
One of Little Vladdie's rationales for invading Ukraine was to keep NATO from expanding into a bordering nation. Well, that's what happened because he invaded Ukraine.
It's the Toyota Rule, as applied to military alliances: He asked for it, he got it.
As for Sweden, they are pretty much a de facto member of NATO already, regardless of what butthurt that gives Hungary and Turkey,

Heavy-Duty Hypocrisy
New York Judge Juan Merchan ruled on Monday night that a handful of photographers will be allowed to take pictures in the courtroom where former President Trump will be arraigned on Tuesday, but he will not allow video cameras, according to reports.
Merchan issued his ruling after Trump’s legal team argued against having cameras in the court room, saying that it would create a “circus-like” atmosphere.
Captain Chaos has been the Cief Clown of his own circus for years. For his lawyers now to argue against having a circus-like atmosphere is about as reality blind as it comes.
Meanwhile, in a tragic bit of hypocrisy:
The fugitive former aide to ex-Maryland Republican Gov. Larry Hogan was shot dead Monday night during a confrontation with federal authorities.
Roy McGrath’s death put an end to a three-week-long manhunt for him that began after he fled before the start of his trial for wire fraud, embezzlement, misconduct in office and improper use of state funds last month.
...
“It’s an absolute tragedy, the loss of Roy McGrath’s life and the unfortunate events that have transpired over the past three weeks,” Joseph Murtha, McGrath’s attorney, told the Baltimore Banner.
“Roy McGrath never wavered about his innocence,” he added.
Innocent white men don't run.

Jabber, Jabber, Rar, Rar
One thing to keep in mind, as the various talking heads and Trumpy apologists run their mouth on the news shows this morning: They don't know shit about what's in the indictment. Two dozen charges, thirty charges, one felony, five felonies, they don't know shit.
Nobody does. I don't. You don't. The indictment is sealed and will be until the alleged perp is processed on Tuesday.
That sleazy mouthpiece of Trump's who is all over the various shows is really only talking to one person: Trump. Judges are not impressed or intimidated by lawyers, appearing on TV. Neither are prosecutors. Trump wants him on TV and so he is.
Maybe he was smart enough to get paid up front, for Trump has a well-earned reputation for stiffing his lawyers. Not my problem, though.

Republicans Love to Make Cracks About "Pedo Dems", but They Consistently Ignore Their Own Pedophiles
A formerly well-connected Republican donor was convicted on Friday of enticing teenage girls with gifts, cash and money in exchange for sex.
A federal jury found Anton “Tony” Lazzaro, 32, guilty of seven counts involving “commercial sex acts” with five girls aged 15 and 16 in 2020, when he was 30 years old.
The charges carry mandatory minimum sentences of 10 years with a maximum of life in prison.
...
His co-defendant, 21-year-old Gisela Castro Medina, who formerly led the University of St Thomas’s College Republican chapter, pleaded guilty to two counts last year. She testified against Lazzaro.
Funny thing, isn't it? Republicans love bleting about voter fraud and child trafficking and grooming, but when the gavel comes crashing down, it seems to be mostly Republicans who end up being convicted for those offenses.

Bad News for Fox News
Dominion's case survived Fox's motion for summary judgment and it's going to trial.
I've not read the ruling, it's 130 pages long, and nobody's paying me to do shit like that. The judge ruled that the statements made by Fox News were false, that Fox News knew they were false, and so this case leaps over the bar set by New York Times v. Sullivan.
Now comes the 640 million dollar question: Will Fox try to settle this or are they going to go to trial? Going to trial would mean that there would be a parade of Fox News people, including their star hosts, having to explain why they backed claims of election fraud that they knew were baseless, why they had on GTrumpist guests that they knew were lunatics and so on. It may be worth several hundred million to Fox to get this case put under wraps.
On the other hand, for Dominion, having this matter aired out in a courtroom, even if they're not awarded all that much, may be what they want. Demonstrating to the world that Fox News (and, by analogy, the other right-wing media outlets) is in the propaganda business may be their goal.
Stay tuned, sports fans.
