And Here We Go....

Republicans rejected Rep. Jim Jordan for House speaker on Tuesday on the first ballot, as holdouts denied the hard-charging ally of Donald Trump the majority needed to seize the gavel. ... Some 20 reluctant Republicans are refusing to give Jordan their votes, viewing the Ohio congressman as too extreme for the powerful position of House speaker, second in line to the presidency.

The moderates may have concluded that they are tired about being led around by the nose by the likes of Pedo Gaetz, MTG and Gym Jordan. And possibly they have taken to heart the fact that there was nobody in the House who knew more about the TOFF's impending coup attempt than ol' Gym.

Those twenty could cut a deal with the Democrats to kick the GOP extremists to the side for now.

But we shall see what happens.

200 Republicans voted for chaos. But it's a cult now, so no surprise.

An attack of sanity and love of country from the 'moderates'? A pretty thing reed....
But that's all we've got.

Just a thought but if they used a secret ballot to vote then Jim Jordan probably would have gotten even less and a Democrat would be the New Speaker. But voting out in the open would cause any outliers that didn't toe the party line to be under a threat. As Jim Jordan has been noted for sending out messages to people to contact their Representatives with a subtle underlying threat to vote for him or something bad will happen. Of course the bad thing would be for him to get the position.

I wouldn't worry none, Jim'll get in to do the lords work. And with future supreme court justice
Aileen Cannon getting ready to dismiss all charges, the good people of Georgia getting ready to get rid of that uppity "lawyer" and making sure anyone fool enough to sit on a jury knows what's at stake, it's morning in murica all over again.

JustMusing, the GOP's a Trumpist cult, now. But it's also a hate group and it has been for over fifty years. I have a post about that in the works.
