President Trump and his advisers have repeatedly discussed whether to fire FBI Director Christopher A. Wray after Election Day — a scenario that also could imperil the tenure of Attorney General William P. Barr as the president grows increasingly frustrated that federal law enforcement has not delivered his campaign the kind of last-minute boost that the FBI provided in 2016, according to people familiar with the matter.
The conversations among the president and senior aides stem in part from their disappointment that Wray in particular but Barr as well have not done what Trump had hoped — indicate that Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden, his son Hunter Biden or other Biden associates are under investigation, these people say.
The Daily Beast makes it even clearer:
But Wray has been particularly out of step with the president’s priorities in recent weeks. He testified, accurately, that antifa was more a “movement or an ideology”—antifascism—than the terrorist organization Trump portrays. He has emphasized that Russia is a particular danger for 2020 election interference. He, like the FBI, has warned that white supremacist violence is the premier domestic terrorism threat facing the United States. And he has undermined Trump’s misinformation campaign that mail-in voting is a vector for election theft, telling Congress for the FBI there is no evidence of “coordinated national voter fraud.”
The FBI director’s ongoing public divergences with Trump, and Wray’s reluctance to settle Trump’s scores, have further solidified the president’s desire to remove Wray, those close to Trump said.
Trump wants the FBI to operate as his personal goon squad. The FBI seems to understand the risks of doing Trump's bidding to announce baseless investigations just because the boss is ordering it.
At this point, it has to be clear that one has to choose between being a Trump supporter and being a loyal American. Loyal Americans believe in democracy, in free and fair elections, and in the rule of law. Trump believes in dictatorship, in authoritarian rule. If you support Trump and you don't see that is what he believes, then you are, in my opinion, being willfully blind.

I read a local F/B site overrun by Koolaid drinkers and they tend to piss me off with their "we are the true patriots" schtick.
They blame Hillary for the Russian connection and see Donny as maligned and put upon.
Donny is the Russian (and now Chinese too) plant, he as much says it out loud. I just don't see Traitors as being Patriotic, no matter how much they whimper or how many guns they carry.
Same thing for the want-to-be rebels and nazis. Nothing patriotic about any of them, and I am tired of them wearing that label.

And that’s the problem right there. Trumpanzees get their news from Fox, Facebook and Twitter. Fox, as we know, panders to and broadcasts the Republican viewpoint. The other two, who knows? Once someone puts up a post about grandma sleeping with aliens, sooner or later some crackpot will rebroadcast it and it then spreads and becomes their ‘truth’. And then poor grandma has to deny and provide proof to millions to clear her name.
I have read on other blogs (some that even occasionally post lies here) that they believe the FBI is a co-conspirator is trying to take down Trump. One site even claimed that the Democrats sent out the emails knowing it would be reported to make the Republicans look bad. As if they need help.
We will all know the state of the country after November 3rd. Half will be upset, the other half glad. What happens after that is anyone’s guess.

Dale, that’s not nearly true, the 50/50 bit, that is.
U.S. Population is about 330,000,000. Voting age population is about 270,000,000. Eligible voters are about 230,000,000. Registered voters are around 160,000,000-165,000,000. If we get lucky we see a 60% turnout, call that 270,000,000 x .6 = 162,000,000.
So, we have some 45% Donnie voters (~73,000,000), of which perhaps at most 2/3 are true believers (~49,000,000). On the Biden side we have around 54% Joe voters (~86,000,000), of which probably 8/11 are true believers (~~62,000,000). The remaining ~24,000,000 Republican voters and ~24,000,000 Democratic voters are probably not particularly concerned about the Presidential result. The 1% (~2,000,000) independent voters are annoyed anyway.
Add that up and we have about 16% of the country is really annoyed that Joe won...slightly less than the total number of under 18 residents of the U.S. You then have about 25% or so that are happy (or really happy) that Joe won...and about 20% that will bitch about either result, despite the fact they couldn’t be bothered to vote. Other considerations would be most of the 60,000,000 not eligible to vote adult residents would probably be anti-Donnie, so that’s another 20-24% happy...don’t seem so bad, and I suspect that the Donnie fans will melt away pretty quickly.
It will be interesting to see how quickly it all melts away.
I think fades back into the woodwork more the likely.
Strikes me that a lot of the stink of desperation is not just our pretty white boy's fear of the inside; take the court-packing, this is the only opportunity the retards will have to get away with it. I've said many time that while GeeDubya Bush was the Worst President Ever (h/t Bartcop) the Cheney Administration accomplished everything it set out to. So to our Manchurian Candidate Moscow Mitch, Putin's bitch, married to a chinee commie princess... make no mistake Mitch McConnell is accomplishing everything he set out to, and more. And he/they will never have this opportunity again. Hence the institutional stink on top of our wannabe mobster in chief.
Look for use of the word, "trumpism" everywhere. And how "he wasn't a true Republican." trump would have called himself whatever it took to steal more money, but the point is, Republicans and conservatives SUPPORTED him. They made all his crimes and mistakes public policy. They hid his crimes or just failed to punish them.
"trumpism" wasn't ever the problem. Republicanism is the problem, and the diseased mindstate that has to be eradicated from the planet.
That "trumpism" shit is their only escape. Don't let them take it. Remember forever and remind everyone you discuss politics with.

"The problem is simple. The GOP exists to serve the interests of the wealthy and big business that comprise the richest 1%. No party, however, can ever win an election with only 1% of the vote. So to win elections, the GOP must necessarily reach beyond its own wealthy core and attempt to convince a large segment of working people in the 99% to vote for Republicans."
Deception is key and paramount to keeping their power. Along with boatloads of dark money.
from some blog, somewhere...
