Not Playing Around With The Playful Signs

A blog by a "sucker" and a "loser" who served her country in the Navy.
If you're one of the Covidiots who believe that COVID-19 is "just the flu",
that the 2020 election was stolen, or
especially if you supported the 1/6/21 insurrection,
leave now.
Slava Ukraini!

Most businesses comply with the mask order only because it is the only way to stay in business without fines.
Right. Because most businesses don't care about the health of their employees or customers.
CM, I claim that B is violating the "Don't be a jackass" rule.
MAGA: Masks Are Great Again!
Unknown, claim denied.
Most people mostly stop at stop signs because it’s the law...and for their health...interesting.
No Mask, No Medical Insurance coverage.
I live in a pretty rough neighbourhood, sign like that, especially the getting shot part, is something to take seriously.
I call bullshit! He is either lying or that motorcade is to kill
people.
He has a contagious disease so what does he do MOTORCADE!
That selfish bastid has put everyone i that car at risk of
catching that.
OR it all a lie.
Eck!
If businesses wanted the masks there'd be no reason for the regulations.
They'd do it voluntarily.
And if restaurants wanted to be clean and tidy, there would be no need for the Health Department to make inspections. If people did the right thing, all the time, there'd be not much of a need for a criminal code, or mandatory auto insurance, pollution regulations, or a whole lot of other things. Maybe you prefer back when one could go down to the river and see what color the auto plant was painting the cars?
You seem to be living in some sort of libertarian alternative universe, B. Hope the weather is nice, there.
You misunderstand Comrade...
You claimed that the businesses WANTED it, I disagreed, and pointed out why I thought so.
Few business owners that I know (and I know quite a few across much of the midwest) would require masks were it not for the new "emergency" regulations from the health department.
As to whether it is a good idea, that is another question, and we can debate that if you'd like. But that does NOT mean that the businesses WANT masks. Your statement that most businesses would "love" to post a sign like your example is more than likely incorrect. You confuse (or are conflating) the two issues of want and need for regulations.
Many of my local businesses mandate customers wear masks and enforce it. My firsthand experience includes Home Depot, NAPA Auto, Safeway, Albertsons, New Seasons, Shell, Chevron, and Harbor Freight. They have installed protective plastic barriers at the registers (cashiers are masked) and provide sanitizer gel as well as curbside order pickup. Physical distancing is required and there are guidelines painted on the floors along aisles and at checkout. Why? Because those business know (at least where I live) that customers will only shop in the stores that provide those safety features and rules.
When it comes to masks; there's no "if" about it.
Mustang: did they do all of this voluntarily? (and all spontaneously?) Or only after it was mandated by the local or state government?
I think if you investigate, it was AFTER.
Right, B, are you freaking serious? Like he's going to go around and ask all the businesses in his area "did you make hand sanitizer available before or after the state's mandate".
Why the hell would he do that?
"Go around and investigate your local businesses to see when they began requiring masks"...
Fuck it, this is getting beyond stupid.
We're done.
