I voted today, so for me, this election is over.
For you, it may not be.
Tens of thousands of people, if not more, are voting every day. The effect is that the window for Trump to reverse his dive in the polls is closing fast. James Comey isn't out there to send out a sabotaging email. The Republicans' attempt to smear Biden through his son very quietly fizzled out.

We have our ballots marked and in their envelopes and barring any more health challenges, we will have them in the drop box in Oakhurst today. And tomorrow if not.
Having moved from Oakland out to the hinterland, we have a goddamn Republican congressman to vote against, which feels strange after all of those years getting to vote for Barbara Lee. He'll probably win, but there's a chance we can beat him with the weak-tea Democrat running against him if there are enough of us gentrification refugees out here now to swing it.
We'll see.
Our state and county have a ballot tracking system in place that will let us know if and when our votes are tabulated, and would have let us know their status in delivery had we mailed them in, rather like package tracking.

It does suck that in as Blue a State as Ca., the interior portion is represented by rethugs. Long term rethugs. One year there was even no opponent for our rethug. Voting Blue isn't always an option available.
Ca. would be in a world of hurt if there weren't such large voting populations in the coastal Blue areas.
Nunes and McClintock and probably a couple of others seem to have lifetime appointments.
Then we have a continuing effort to recall the Democratic Governor and a pipe (sewer pipe) dream of splitting the red parts of the state into something to be called "The State of Jefferson".
We have lots of unrepresented Democrats, in gerrymandered districts.
Personally, I haven't even gotten the Voter Books yet to study all the bonds and laws and stuff. Voting Blue isn't a question in our home but it's nice to know how they want to spend our money, ahead of time. Ca will usually have another chance for the South part to try and divert water from the North, again. One day we may lose that fight, but not yet.
I just want to see the Blue Wave wash all that filth out of "Our House".
Can't wait, let's get this show on the road.
