You are perhaps referring to the two light traffic signal? If so, the movie isn't necessarily that old. Looking at that picture made me curious about the red/green only signal, and while knocking around the web, I found data that suggested Queens, NY used a few two color units into the 2000's and that at least one unit may still be in use in Suffolk Cointy to this day.

All that shows up on the web is the blue Tardis from Dr Who. With the ubiquitous cell phone that everyone has, even the CA freeway call boxes seem to be going away. They are cell phones themselves, as there are no wires/cables in the base.

Will, isn't that a fire-alarm call box? Even though Mayor McBig-Gulp and his Mussolini-wannabee predecessor wanted to pull them, there are still many thousands in use.
