President-elect Donald Trump unveiled plans for an executive order to save TikTok from a federal ban Sunday, immediately raising questions about the legality of his proposal, which appears to involve nationalizing half of the app.
“I will issue an executive order on Monday to extend the period of time before the law’s prohibitions take effect, so that we can make a deal to protect our national security,” Trump wrote on Truth Social. “My initial thought is a joint venture between the current owners and/or new owners whereby the U.S. gets a 50% ownership in a joint venture set up between the U.S. and whichever purchase we so choose.”
Right, he wants the government to own half of TikTok. That sounds a lot like Russian-style communism. Can you imagine the uproar on the Right if a Democrat proposed that the Federal government buy half of TikTok? When the government took a stake in GM to save it, the "conservatives" called the company "Government Motors".
But you can bet that the very same people will be lining up behind their Orange God to support whatever he wants to do.
And to those who were so, so concerned about the CCP having access to their data, how do you feel about the MAGA White House having that access? Maybe Reichfuhrer Miller or Chief Stormtrooper Homan will be jacking off as they scroll through people's private data.

This will be amusing to watch... Popcorn?
Eck!
Translation: Elon doesn't have enough cash to swing the purchase outright. So Trump wants to front him half. $20B? Just given away...
Tit for Tat; Tik for Tok.
Only 50% ? Sounds more like something Tony Soprano would do, to help a friend.
