I hated Hershel Walker as a candidate, and I have no idea who this dude is that is now running for the Republicans. Likely another old white guy.
I do have a comment about carpetbaggers, however. I seem to recall Hillary Clinton running for congress, from the state of New York, which was pretty much the same thing. No doubt it has happened many times with others, that I cannot think of. I don't like it, the reason for states having representatives from their state in both Senate and the House is so that each state will have someone who will represent their very local issues in the federal government. Carpetbagging takes that away, and transfers power to the party, which in neither case needs more power, but less.
New York has been a little more tolerant of carpet baggers. Robert F Kennedy, one of the Buckley clan. And, of course, Hillary Clinton. But “Helicopter Harold“ was a bit too much for even New York.
mr president...what do you have to say about the fire on maui?

Pigpen51, it’s a valid question, and in both cases the person running was approached by people to run. However, Clinton started in New York 16 months before the election, with the endorsement of the Senator she was running to replace, and spent months cross-crossing New York to convince people.
In the case of McCormick, he was recruited by the party, he grew up in PA, but is lying his ass off when he says he lives there, despite owning property and a house. I suspect that tack won’t fly yet again in PA, flying into PA to campaign because you can’t stand to be away from your 1,500 bottle wine cellar is already not playing well.
ontoiran, please stay on point. I presume you have your own blog, keep it there.
There does need to be a residency requirement if you're going to represent a state in the federal Congress. One primary residence, for at least five years within that state, and NO ownership of housing in MD/VA/DC area. They should build dorms for congresscritters to reside when repping at the Capitol.
The story noted that he voted in PA in 2022 and yet listed his residence as CT in real estate sales docs earlier this year.
So, yet another Republican committing voter fraud. Allegedly
Liddy Dole fits the bill all the way. She abused Asheville NC. She and Bob spent all of their time in DC and nobody here like her.
Dole's voting record was somewhat more conservative than that of her husband, though slightly less conservative than that of Helms
