Why Isn't Bobby Jindal in Jail Right Now?

Saying shit like this is skating pretty close to breaking the law: 18 USC 2385
Whoever knowingly or willfully advocates, abets, advises, or teaches the duty, necessity, desirability, or propriety of overthrowing or destroying the government of the United States or the government of any State, Territory, District or Possession thereof, or the government of any political subdivision therein, by force or violence, or by the assassination of any officer of any such government; or

Whoever, with intent to cause the overthrow or destruction of any such government, prints, publishes, edits, issues, circulates, sells, distributes, or publicly displays any written or printed matter advocating, advising, or teaching the duty, necessity, desirability, or propriety of overthrowing or destroying any government in the United States by force or violence, or attempts to do so; or

Whoever organizes or helps or attempts to organize any society, group, or assembly of persons who teach, advocate, or encourage the overthrow or destruction of any such government by force or violence; or becomes or is a member of, or affiliates with, any such society, group, or assembly of persons, knowing the purposes thereof—

Shall be fined under this title [$250,000- me] or imprisoned not more than twenty years, or both, and shall be ineligible for employment by the United States or any department or agency thereof, for the five years next following his conviction.
This is exactly correct:
This is why we’re seeing a pronounced uptick in violence committed by right wing “sovereign citizens” — because even the Republicans elected to our highest offices are spouting incredibly irresponsible evil bullshit like this.
Jindal is a tool. To borrow a 19th Century phrase, he's smoking a cigar inside a powder magazine. But he is of a piece, for he is operating in the same area that similar seditious tools were operating 154 years ago. Then as now, they are nothing more than bitter fucks who cannot abide by the results of fee and fair elections.

I once thought that Lincoln had the right of it, that the way to 'bind up the nation's wounds was to have courteously and lightly administer the defeated Souh. but I'm coming to the idea that maybe the Romans had the right idea. The problem with the South is, like the Germans after the First World War, we didn't beat them badly enough. They keep nattering away about the failed doctrine of state's rights (one of the reasons why the Confederacy was not able to sufficiently mobilize it s economy) and the "lost cause" and all of the other bullshit they spew to cover up the historical fact that the war was fought for the rights of slave owners.

These seditious fools have never gone away.

No matter where I go and many times out of the blue people voice their displeasure of government at all levels.

Never experienced that at this level. Nobody said boo about Irak for instance.

I do not believe this is regional but nationwide and allowing slugs like Jindal to spew their shit at will only reinforces what dummies think they know.

This is where we are at as a country - that is people despising guvmint in bigger numbers that one may think.

"maybe the Romans had the right idea"

They did also split the empire into two culturally different parts...

"fee and fair elections" may be a typo but it finds the mark nonetheless. It boggles my mind that liberals such as yourself can go on for days (correctly) about the hopeless corruption of our government, and then throw shit at people for daring to talk about forming a new government.

See, I went to public schools and got taught an education of questionable value from unionized teachers of questionable ability, but even I recall something about some kind of document in the early days of the good ol' USA, something about "deriving just powers from the consent of the governed" something something "it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such government and to provide new guards for their future security" something something.

Weren't you salivating just the other day at the prospects of guillotines? Are you knowingly and willingly in violation of this law? Or is it just a problem when people you disagree with discuss reclaiming just government by force and it's all hunky-dory when it's your team?

So let make sure if I understand this: If Louisiana were to enact a law establishing a legal hunting season for the killing of gay people, you'd be fine with that?

And don't people in Louisiana still pledge allegiance to this Republic? Didn't Jindal swear an oath to defend the Constitution? Or is all of that now "inoperative" whenever a (black) Democrat is elected?

I think extrapolating "hunt gays like animals" from "stop common core" may be stretching the bounds of reasonableness just a tad, but lets run with it. If Louisiana seceded from the union and started massacring homosexuals, I would absolutely not support it. In fact, I'd pick up my rifle and volunteer to suppress the rebellion by force. We've already explored this issue as a nation and proven that a goddamned awful lot of white boys are willing to kill and die to stop atrocities like slavery. Should Louisiana proclaim that the federal government of the US has become hopelessly corrupt and overly powerful, and Louisianians therefore secede and form their own government, they would be following in the moral and philosophical tradition of the Enlightenment, from which we took our founding documents and philosophy as a young nation. In the absence of some abuse, like massacring gays, any attempt to reconquer the state would be indefensible.

The citizens of Louisiana may pledge allegiance to the United States, but allegiance can be withdrawn. If the Constitution has been rendered null and void by constant creeping federal overreach, then all oaths to the federal nation are voided.

I will reiterate: You feel free to fantasize about the possible location of guillotines in New York city on your publicly viewable and NSA archived blog. Consider carefully your wish to see that law enforced.

PS: Having studied the french revolution extensively after being freed from my public-school bondage, I can definitively state that only a fucking idiot would wish for the guillotine's return. '93-'94 france is NOT where you want to take this country.
