My laptop, which has Win7 Pro, keeps bugging me to install an update that is 28Mb in size. It is the "Microsoft.NET Framework 4 Client Profile." The rationale for it seems to be mostly gobbledygook about "running client programs" and "faster deployment of Windows Presentation Technology," whatever the hell that means.
Should I bother with or ignore it?

Stupid computers with an update monkey on their backs!
I've got to install such things all the time, since I work in 3D graphics and animation, as well as high resolution images.
What bugs me, though, is seeing four progressive versions of such things on my hard drive, and I don't know if I can delete the older ones, to save space.
The .NET crap is exclusively for the winders load as everyone else doesn't use it.
The problem with winders after W98SE is it saves everything in the hopes of preserving itself. Often that means any bugs/virus are also preserved.
Hint turn off or severely lengthen the update cycles.
As far as the size of it, typical. However, I do wonder about the 30% that do not have anything faster than a 56k modem.
Even Ubuntu updates are getting annoying. Though often they do actually do something useful.
