Your Sunday Morning Jet Noise

A Falcon 20:

Falcon 20s were pretty popular business jets fifty years ago. FedEx started its operations with Falcon 20s. The Coasties flew them for many years.

Noisy birds with some 'weird' habits... But they spent a LOT of years in service as cargo birds for a number of smaller operations.

Fan Jet Falcons they were called in the '60s. I noted with interest when I got to ZAU in '68 that the type contraction for them was FFJ, and there were many in my study group who thus called them Falcon Fan Jets. I did not.

Yep, LRod, the FFJ type designator was dumped in the late 90’s when they all became simply FA20’s. Amusingly, the old FAA listing shows the FFJ at 5000/5000 +/-, and the FA20 at 2000/2200 +/-. It was also moved in size class then too. The FFJ/Fan Jet Falcon was a North America only name too.
