Staffers of the U.S. Agency for International Development were instructed to stay out of the agency’s Washington headquarters on Monday, according to a notice distributed to them, after billionaire Elon Musk announced President Donald Trump had agreed with him to shut the agency.
USAID staffers said they also tracked more than 600 employees who reported being locked out of the agency’s computer systems overnight. Those still in the system received emails saying that “at the direction of Agency leadership” the headquarters building “will be closed to Agency personnel on Monday, Feb. 3.”
USAID delivers aid around the world. They help in disaster relief, they work with the military to support civilians who are victims of natural disasters and wars. They are a major instrument of American soft power, willing hearts and minds by doing good.
You can bet heavily that the Chinese government is whispering in the ears of governments whose people receive help from USAID, thelling them: "The Americans are flightly and mercurial. We, on the other hand, will be here for you." Hopefully, the EU is giving the same message, but maybe not, as it has interna, Russian saboteurs to cripple their efforts.
Musk, therefore, may arguably be an agent of the Chinese so he can protect his car plant in the world's most populous country.
Meanwhile, Musk is using Trump to exact some revenge against his homeland for abolishing apartheid.

Elon needs China, but China doesn't need Elon. He's looking for a payoff from them for killing USAID, but he isn't going to get it. They have BYD and other EV makers. Why should China help Elon export Teslas from China when they can export their home grown companies to people the US is pissing off. He and his merry band in incels are shooting the US and himself in the foot and he's too full of himself to realize that.
