Alexandria [Louisiana] Police officers have charged two suspects with second-degree murder and home invasion after a botched armed robbery resulted in the death of a third accomplice at the hands of the home's resident early Monday on Willow Glen Street.

Resident Roy Harris Jr. shot and killed Darwin Johnson, 24, of the 2700 block of Ninth Street, Alexandria, during the break-in about 4:30 a.m. Monday, police said.

The two arrestees are being charged with murder apparently under the Louisiana felony murder statute. That's a life sentence.
