I really do not see this as a bad decision by the IOC. The Olympics have NEVER been hosted by a South American country...and the US has had their turn multiple times.

Rio's hosting is an historic event!

Cranky, I have no problem with the decision of the IOC. What I have a problem with is the attitude of a lot of Wingnut bloggers that they are taking pleasure in Chicago's loss of the bid because, to their eyes, it makes Obama look bad.

By the by..my lol was sarcastic and should in no way reflect the job that Obama has been trying to do for nine months.

For the record however, I am not enamored with him and his administration over much these days.

I waffle back and forth between cursing his ass and commending him for some thing or another he said.
