College will soon become unaffordable for most Americans.
Which is just what the conservatives want: An uneducated and easily cowed population of serfs. The mass education of Americans as a result of the GI Bill of 1944, coupled by the expansion of the middle class, has been intolerable to conservatives. They will do whatever they can to return things to where they were 100 years ago.
And if that means destroying this nation as an economic power in the process, that is what they will do.

I've been singing the "serfification rag" for a good while now, and being told I am a silly, alarmist, exaggerating drama queen Cassandra. I wish I could believe I was wrong.
The Rethug goal for America is Mexico North, Mexico with better highways. Cancun is their role model, where the Masters of the Universe are coddled in luxury, and the workers go home to mud-and-tin shacks with no running water, sewer service, or electricity. I noted this five years ago on a predecessor blog, and nothing has changed my mind since.
