Microsoft: WTF?

I saw a commercial for Windows Vista that touts its ability to stitch photos together to make panoramic photos.

Here's a news flash to Redmond: My four-year-old Canon Powershot came with the software to do that. I just turn the knob on the top to the panoramic setting and take the shots.

I'll pass on their bloatware for now. And so will everyone else, it seems, as the ads aimed at business users all mention that Vista can be "downgraded" to XP.

Second news flash: When you release an OS two years ago and you still have to persuade people that it is not a piece of shit, you're doing something very wrong.

Oh, and for all of you who are hoping that "Windows 7" will be better, you should know this: Vista is also known as Windows NT 6.0. Windows 7 is really NT 6.1, which means it is little more than a "we hope we finally fixed this piece of shit" version of Vista.

This is why, as a computer illiterate, when I needed to switch from an over-powered Mac to a PC, I had my son build me one so that I did NOT have to confront the issues with Vista at all. Course....eventually it will still bite me on the ass....
