Their Russian subsidiary put up the surety for Mr Trump's bond so he can appeal the EJ Carroll judgment.
That sub writes policies in Russia, not the US. But its superpower is that it can move money to and from Russia.

Let's take a quick look at The Chubb corporation that backed Trump's bond in the Carroll case. Btw, in 2018, Trump nominated the CEO of Chubb, Evan G. Greenberg, to serve on WH trade advisory committee for trade & policy & negotiations.

Well that's one way to launder some of the money Trump made selling the binder to Vlad.

It would have been naive that since Trump doesn't have the cash and he couldn't sell whatever highly leveraged properties he has then he has to go to his best buddy in a roundabout way to get the cash. When he has to pay it back it will require that he be back in the White House or he will have to stop at the flower shop for some flowers and stop at the hardware store for a shovel for his visit to Ivana's grave site.
IIRC, Dick Cavett's old show on PBS was underwritten by Chubb. Of course, that was back in the 80s/90s.
And completely off topic, I saw Cavett do the moonwalk on Johnny Carson once. That was probably 1984 or 1985, at the height of the Michael Jackson craze.

Can you provide a link showing that Federal is actually Russian other than just a business office address? Actual ownership or directorship. Something substantial? Something YOU would expect as a decent bit of proof were it me stating that?
Not saying you are wrong, I just can't find anything.
The problem is the fungibility of money. As long as the Russians put money into Chubb, there’s no good way to say it did or didn’t fund his bond.
But you’re dealing with an international insurance outfit, the Russians and, of course, Trump. There’s not a single one who, if they claimed that the Sun would come up tomorrow, wouldn’t cause panic-buying of flashlight batteries.
DA, personal attack. Red Card.
