What Koch Foods was demanding of black farmers is reminiscent of the line that Dick Gregory once said about the literary tests used to discriminate against black voters:
"Back in my home town, they make us take a test to vote. Nuclear physics in Russian. If you pass the test, they tell you 'Boy, you can't vote, you read Russian, you must be communist."
