Sounds like a lot of the mods they made reduced the reliability and increased the fuel consumption of the plane. This is one reason why I'm very cautious and conservative when it comes to mods to my Jeep. While it won't fall out of the air if the engine quits, having the engine quit while halfway up a mountain ledge forty miles from civilization with a blizzard on the horizon would be a real bummer...
