Trump is planning an extreme expansion of his first-term crackdown on immigration if he returns to power in 2025 — including preparing to round up undocumented people already in the United States on a vast scale and detain them in sprawling camps while they wait to be expelled.

To ease the strain on ICE detention facilities, Mr. Trump wants to build huge camps to detain people while their cases are processed and they await deportation flights. And to get around any refusal by Congress to appropriate the necessary funds, Mr. Trump would redirect money in the military budget, as he did in his first term to spend more on a border wall than Congress had authorized.

People who were granted temporary protected status because they are from certain countries deemed unsafe, allowing them to lawfully live and work in the United States, would have that status revoked.
Similarly, numerous people who have been allowed to live in the country temporarily for humanitarian reasons would also lose that status and be kicked out, including tens of thousands of the Afghans who were evacuated amid the 2021 Taliban takeover and allowed to enter the United States. Afghans holding special visas granted to people who helped U.S. forces would be revetted to see if they really did.
And Mr. Trump would try to end birthright citizenship for babies born in the United States to undocumented parents — by proclaiming that policy to be the new position of the government and by ordering agencies to cease issuing citizenship-affirming documents like Social Security cards and passports to them. That policy’s legal legitimacy, like nearly all of Mr. Trump’s plans, would be virtually certain to end up before the Supreme Court.

As he has campaigned for the party’s third straight presidential nomination, his anti-immigrant tone has only grown harsher. In a recent interview with a right-wing website, Mr. Trump claimed without evidence that foreign leaders were deliberately emptying their “insane asylums” to send the patients across America’s southern border as migrants. He said migrants were “poisoning the blood of our country.” And at a rally on Wednesday in Florida, he compared them to the fictional serial killer and cannibal Hannibal Lecter, saying, “That’s what’s coming into our country right now.”
The Fourteenth Amendment to the Constitution says this:
All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside.
That is black-letter law, law that, like most other laws, the TOFF and his minions would willingly tear up. If it were possible to revoke the citizenship of natural-born Americans, the TOFF would be on the next plane to Moscow.
The TOFF's "poisoning the blood" rhretoric is straight out of Mein Kampf, probably one of the few books that he has read from cover to cover. Rest assured that, under a second TOFF administration, anyone who even vaguely looks Hispanic or Middle Eastern will be rounded up, tossed into a concentration camp and, since it's unlikely that they'll have documents in their possession to prove their citizenship (do you?), they'll be deported to whatever country the TOFF's functionaries deem to be proper. And even if they did happen to have a copy of their birth certificate or a passport or passport card in their possession, you can rest assured that those documents will wind up missing.
If you think that the TOFF's roundup will end with undocumented immigrants, I have a bridge to sell to you.

A vote for the TOFF is a vote for Hitler 2.0.
Trump really isn't even a coherent person with some sort of rational (as opposed to hind-brain) agenda any more. He's a leaking mass of psychopathic sociopathic hate, fear and fury....as is his base. Effectively he and they want to use explosive destruction to "fix" things; we have reached a devolution wherein shooter mass-murder previously done retail here and there by the unhinged will be loosed wholesale. They are purposefully destabilizing the mental health of our nation and governance....and calling it good.

ReplyDeleteNow if your side could just give us a a candidate that isn't a radical liberal, US hating Cloward-Piven advocate who would put the country and the citizens first and the rest of the world second, who would force some fiscal restraint and who doesn't want to "Fundamentally transform" the USA.....
Then they might get elected.
Otherwise, with candidates as we see them now, It'll be a landslide again for Trump.

What has Biden done to help this country?

3) Imposed a 15% minimum corporate tax on some of the largest corporations in the country as part of the Inflation Reduction Act.
4) Gave Medicare the power to negotiate prescription drug prices through the Inflation Reduction Act.
5) Held Vladimir Putin accountable for his invasion of Ukraine by imposing stiff economic sanctions.
6) Created more jobs in one year (6.6 million) than any other president in U.S. history.
7) Signed the PACT Act to address service members’ exposure to burn pits and other toxins.
8) Boosted the budget of the Internal Revenue Service by nearly $80 billion to reduce tax evasion and increase revenue.
trump could not get any of these things done. In fact, these things needed to be done due to the damage the trump administration caused during their four years in office.
And unless you're white, male, and rich, you should be concerned about the rhetoric spouted by the orange buffoon.
