A Shelby County commissioner told FOX13 on Friday that state leaders in Nashville are threatening to take away funding from Memphis and other Shelby County projects if the county commission decides to reinstate expelled state Rep. Justin J. Pearson.
The GOP, at this point, might as well adopt white robes and matchng hoods as its official uniform. Telling a governmental body whom they can and cannot appoint is pretty fucking outrageous.
(H/T)
and yet for the past 50 or so years you and other dems have had no problem with the federal government telling local school districts what they can and cannot teach.
ReplyDeleteteach our classes or we will not give you money for lunches, ect.
so how is this any different, except it is state/local and not the almighty federal government doing it??
Oh heck, Why have the bother of elections anymore? Just let the GQP pick and install whoever pleases them and be done with it. This cannot be legal.

Send in the Federal Marshalls to walk the Representatives into the State House. Sweet Lyndon Baines Johnson, these turkeys are utterly tone deaf. Even Strom Thurmond was smoother than this.
ReplyDeleteCannon, specifics, please.
ReplyDeleteBut then, would you be OK with defunding every Federal project in Georgia's 14th Congressional District? Or Colorado's 3rd? Or Ohio's 4th?
Hogwash cannon, horse hockey, bull biscuits. For the past fifty years it's been you and yours ramming your ignorant religion down our children's throats, when not actively dismantling the education system so as to turn out barely literate rubes incapable of proper punctuation.
ReplyDeleteI'll burn your bible ... burn your churches
And Cannon....what about that would-be rugged individualism of the GOP when in reality the red states are takers, freeloading on the blue states? If they had the gimp to carry their own load, I'd be more respectful.
ReplyDeleteI guess those rednecks are dusting off their ropes, flaming crosses, and torches too.
ReplyDeleteDems are grabbing food out of children's mouths?

Just Musing, that is pathetic as all fuck. What a bunch of grifters.
ReplyDeleteLet's tug on this thread using the color of the day:
ReplyDeletewhen in reality the red states are takers, freeloading on the blue states
It's certainly true in terms of federal tax dollars paid and tax dollars received. One way to put it is the red states are welfare states in this respect. Blue states have higher GDPs than red states cannot be in dispute.
I like good economies, the rule of law and a strong national defense. The long term military prowess of a country is a function of its peace time economy.

Self-proclaimed conservatives seem to not understand the two words "false equivalency". Throwing out elected officials is not the same as dictating some educational requirements. Elected representatives being loud is not the same as an insurrection. Having CRT classes available at the college level is not teaching third graders to hate their white selves. Talking to a troubled child about anything to do with gender and who is probably afraid to talk to their parents is not grooming. Trying to keep guns out of criminals hands or from mentally troubled people is not confiscation. Making up 'what-if"s can cover everything one does not like.

It's in the domain of unfair comparisons. Explained quite nicely here:

It's part of a set critical thinking videos.
