A new Russian intercontinental ballistic missile is capable of carrying several hypersonic weapons, a senior Russian military officer said Sunday.
Col. Gen. Sergei Karakayev, the commander of the Russian military’s Strategic Missile Forces, said in televised remarks that the new Sarmat ICBM is designed to carry several Avangard hypersonic glide vehicles.
Seriously, who gives a shit? America's ABM system is not large enough to stop a Russian (or Chinese) attack. It's designed to stop an attack from North Korea and maybe Iran. A Russian attack would overwhelm it with conventional warheads without the Russians having to spend a tenth of a ruble on fancy new shit.
But hey, if the Russians want to spend their money on goldplated and unecessary systems because it makes the psychopathic shrimp running the country feel better instead of basic things like maintaining their tanks, well, they are certainly free to do so.
And the fancier their shit is, the more likely it is to MALF. Augustine's Law #I forget: "Anything that isn't in a design won't break". Or as the Comrade would say, "When you need to shoot, shoot, don't talk".
ReplyDeleteFunny thing is their stuff used to be as dependable as a hammer, witness the AK and the jets that could soft-field land without FODing themselves. Keep it up, Comrade.
We can only hope for a malf..
ReplyDeleteGenerally I think a launch is one of those thing that's
going to be like barking dogs. One starts then the whole
neighborhood is barking.
So they have Hypersonic, wow. we see them and we launch
even if theirs land first we have a metric ton more going
their way to melt them. Putinhead has forgotten the
mutually assured part of destruction. Of course everyone
else will join in and play too.
A years later the Vulcan mission will note the planet
formally inhabited, glows.
Eck!
Hyper sonics have physics problems when the atmosphere gets denser.
