Why the shift, you may wonder. This is why:
As President Donald Trump works to contain the damage from the novel coronavirus outbreak in the U.S., the rally in support he enjoyed as the nation entered a virtual lockdown has faded. His job approval rating, now 43%, has slipped six percentage points since mid-March when he earned 49% approval, which tied his personal best.As much as I dislike him as a president (and as a human being), I would have been thrilled if he had risen to the occasion and acted like a real leader who put the country first ahead of his own interests. You know, like Captain Crozier. But he isn't. To Trump, everything about this pandemic is about him, about the ratings that the Daily Trump Show is pulling in.
...
The six-point decline in the president's approval rating is the sharpest drop Gallup has recorded for the Trump presidency so far, largely because Trump's ratings have been highly stable and have yet to reach the historical average for presidents (back to 1945) of 53%.
If he had done that, his approval ratings would have shot up. He'd still have the Trumpanzees voting for him; he might have won over a good number of independents and enough Democrats to comfortably win, maybe even with a good majority of the popular vote. But that's never going to happen, because Trump cannot be a good man about anything. He's a venal little narcissist/sociopath who cannot conceive of selflessness and kindness.
Meanwhile, if you listen to a "doctor" with a TV show, you're being gulled by stupid morons who can't distinguish between accidents and infectious diseases, not to mention thinking that a few million more dead people is a good idea.
What got into Oz's and Phill's covefee? Especially "dr." Phil. He isn't even a medical doctor, not that Oz is anymore either. Did they figure Donny does it so they can too? "Sure we can waste a few thousand people for the economy, no problem"? Heartless asswipes.
ReplyDeleteI don't ever want to hear a peep again from any one that says they are "pro-life". If this doesn't show that to be the lie it is, nothing will.
Wondering too, when killing off Grama and Grampa doesn't revive their fortunes, what is next up? We haven't tried throwing a billionaire into a Volcano yet, just a saying.

What's amusing us that both of those pieces of poop are in the highly
ReplyDeleteimpacted age group but is also in the socially less likely that being
rich and white.
The more that die the fewer there will be to watch their stupid programs
and buy their snake oils.
The pro-lifers, they have been a social lie since day one. IF they were
truly pro-life everyone of them would be out there trying to help the
the high impact groups... Which are likely the ones they are afraid of.
Eck!
I saw someone on Twitter say that if there were 35,000 drowning deaths annually instead of 3,500, and if the swimming pools were sneaking into our houses and drowning us, we might just want to do something about it as a nation.
