The American missionary who was killed by an isolated tribe on North Sentinel Island detailed his attempts to convert the tribal members to Christianity in his final diary entries before his death.Apparently, Dumbass couldn't speak the language spoken by the Sentinelese, so his plan was to, in essence, jabber at them nonsensically. It'd be like most Westerners being lectured in Mongolian.
In photos obtained by ABC News of the final journal entries by [Dumbass the Zealot] before his death, he writes to his family, telling them, "You guys might think I'm crazy in all this, but I think it's worth it to declare Jesus to these people."
[Dumbass], 26, a native of Washington, allegedly bribed fishermen in the area of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands to take him close to the island, where he set off with a kayak to make contact with the tribe. The Sentinelese people have no contact with outsiders and have lived the same way for thousands of years.
As someone who is not Christian and whose people have a very long history of suffering at the hands of Christians, pardon me for not shedding a tear for Dumbass.
Probably for the same reasons a bunch of journalists and leftists gave a fuck about that Jamal Khashoggi dude....
ReplyDeleteMost of us couldn't care less about either of them.
My MIL spent the 1930's nursing in China for the Rockefeller Foundation. One of her most vivid memories was of arriving at a remote village where an epidemic had broken out. She was riding on a jackass loaded with all the medicine it could carry, and had to triage patients so she wouldn't run out...and then two well-scrubbed missionaries showed up in a shiny new truck loaded with bibles.
ReplyDeleteDoris detested missionaries.
So, B., killing someone reporting on you is an acceptable act? Is this open season on journalists? Do you hold the values of the founders of America in such low regard as to support this? What’s next, Trump, “Will no one did me of this meddlesome journalist?”
ReplyDeleteCP: You miss the point.
ReplyDeleteThe question was: "Why does anyone give a fuck about this guy?"
Why should we then give a fuck about your opinion, B?
ReplyDeleteSee how that works?
DA: That's a borderline persona attack. Yellow card.
ReplyDeleteB: Is killing an inconvenient journalist and dissident OK with you?
B needs to read John Donne—No man is an island.
ReplyDeleteB, you are a complete hypocrite. If Obama had stood by quietly when a journalist was killed, you would be screaming like your nuts were caught in a vise.
ReplyDelete(CM, I hope this does not constitute a personal attack. I view it as a simple statement of fact)
Let me be plain: I expect people to treat each other the way that they would do if both parties were sitting across a table. If that's not clear enough, then add in "and they were both armed."
ReplyDeleteOtherwise, we're going to hit the land-speed record for shutting off comments.
I'm with you on the Missionary, Misfit. Idjit.
ReplyDeleteBut I wouldn't call Kashoggi a journalist. Propagandist for a terror org, mebbe
NJT, so the Washington Post is a terror org? Just because you don’t like the press organization (or its reporter), doesn’t mean you shouldn’t fight like hell to protect them. The first rule of contract law is that you must protect the box. Allowing a violation of the contract is potentially giving away some of those rights for ever...consider the slow death of the 60 vote requirement and the filibuster in the U.S. Senate. Each side will end up rueing their choices in this as the natural swings in control occur, already we hear regret at the loss of consensus in the Senate.
ReplyDeleteKhashoggi was a critic of the Saudi administration, and for that he was killed...who is next, a critic of Donnie?
I would not have cared if a journalist was killed under Barry's administration any more that I care a about khashogghi today (and lets be clear, he wasn't a journalist any more than I am or you are). He was a Bin Laden supporter and a troubelmaker for the Saudis....He was a fool to enter their territory. That is not a reason for him to be killed, but neither does it make me all upset any more than all the other people in the world that got killed that day.
ReplyDeleteI also don't care that the Christian "Missionary" was killed. "Play stupid games, win stupid prizes" and all that.
So, B., to be clear. If YOU adjudge a person to not be a real journalist, it’s OK to kill them? Or it’s OK to kill journalists on the whole? Reading your post seems to clearly suggest the latter.
ReplyDeleteYou would be right....if you were biased and blinded by those hate colored glasses you wear and if you used logic in your thoughts (which you apparently don't)...
ReplyDeleteBy your logic, our esteemed hostess thinks it's ok for the missionary to be killed simply because he was Christian (Hint: I don't think she said that any more than I said that about journalists).
I'm not sure what leaps of twisted logic you used to get to your conclusion in the above, but seriously, man, you need help.
So no, not clear. You are mistaken in your assumption.
No, the Washington Post publishes porpaganda from the Muslim Brotherhood, when they are of a mind to, CP
ReplyDeleteOh dear, B. and NJT, there you both go again. Allegations that you suggest meant it was OK that he died. Comparing a journalist, trying to get a piece of paperwork at an Embassy as a private citizen, to a missionary deliberately landing on an island whose residents are known to resist outsiders by force because, when they didn’t in the past, some tribe menbers were taken and never seen again. By this theory, any person you disagree with is a possible target...my God, this is Fox News category stuff here.
ReplyDeleteYou two can try to justify it all you want, but I suggest some deep thinking about the values you are espousing.
