Step One: Prince Bone Saw Should Commit Seppuku

Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman on Wednesday described the killing of Washington Post columnist Jamal Khashoggi as a "heinous" crime in his first comments since some of his closest aides were implicated in the Saudi journalist's death.

Speaking at an investors' conference in Riyadh that has been overshadowed by the crisis, bin Salman said those responsible for the killing would be brought to justice.
Our spooks believe that Prince Bone Saw ordered the murder of Khashoggi.

Prince Bone Saw had Khashoggi's son, Salah, brought before him so that the Price Who Ordered the Hit could give his condolences to the son of the man that he had killed.

Note that Prince Bone Saw has forbidden Khashoggi's family from traveling, essentially using them as hostages to persuade Khashoggi to return.

The House of Saud has been a despicable bunch for decades. They have funded the proliferation of an extremist version of Islam. The Saudis have been funding terrorism for a very long time.

It's high time to cut loose of them.

  1. OK, so we cut loose Saudi Arabia, and then what? Are we dropping the other Gulf States too? Donnie won’t do it because of Iran and he can’t do it because of Bush Part Deux’s Iraq Adventure. With Iraq removed as a counter to Iran, Saudi Arabia is it, the only game in town.

Ok, so do we need a counter to Iran? Honestly, a withdrawal would allow a little more direct discussion about terrorist support (i.e. a few Tomahawks into a couple of camps) with less vulnerable infrastructure in the area. However, Donnie won’t do that because it also means effectively abandoning Israel. So we come back to the fact that “we” need to contain Iran to assist Israel, and we have the Saudi’s working, grudgingly, with the Israeli’s on containing the Iranians and keeping the other Arab States on “our” side.

So we have the Russians working with Iran/Iraq/Syria, what happens if we drop the Saudi’s? The Chinese is what happens, as we can see in Africa, around the Horn of Africa. The Chinese would love to have the Gulf oil for their own, and that would put Japan and India over the barrel. So just how do we disengage?

  2. We can stop pretending that the Saudis are our friends. They most assuredly are not. Maybe we work together where our interests are aligned.

But they are not our friends. The Saudis have been a "state sponsor of terrorism" for a very long time.
