"I Did Not Have Communications With That Man, Sergey Kislyak!"

Or, as it goes now: "My reply to the question of Senator Franken was honest and correct as I understood it at the time." Which was this:
FRANKEN: CNN just published a story alleging that the intelligence community provided documents to the president-elect last week, that included information that “Russian operatives claim to have compromising personal and financial information about Mr. Trump.” These documents also allegedly say “there was a continuing exchange of information during the campaign between Trump surrogates and intermediaries for the Russian government.” Again, I’m telling you this as it’s coming out, so, you know.

But if it’s true, it’s obviously extremely serious, and if there is any evidence that anyone affiliated with the Trump campaign communicated with the Russian government in the course of this campaign, what will you do?

SESSIONS: Senator Franken, I’m not aware of any of those activities. I have been called a surrogate at a time or two in that campaign and I did not have communications with the Russians, and I’m unable to comment on it.
Moron. He was asked what he would do if there was evidence of the contacts with the Russians and he took the opportunity to deny an accusation that wasn't even made to him.

  1. I think his denial is carefully crafted to support his position that the question, as he understood it, was about communications with the Russian, as a campaign surrogate. He's walked back his original outrage and moved to comments that support his actions in the mold of Bill Clinton. Early yesterday afternoon it looked like they were digging in for a siege, but Sessions seem to have decided against that strategy now. The big question is can Donnie stay cool while the digging occurs, and/or will they find oil?

  2. I've seen defendant's experts, so full of themselves, repeatedly answer questions not asked. Best part is the look on the corp. atty's mug as he watches his case, and $15k of soured testimony go down the crapper. Priceless.
