The White House is now trying to say that when Trump told the President of Mexico that he'd send in the U.S. Army to clean up Mexican crime, he was only kidding when he said:
"You have a bunch of bad hombres down there," Trump told Mexican President Enrique Pena Nieto, according to the excerpt given to the AP. "You aren't doing enough to stop them. I think your military is scared. Our military isn't, so I just might send them down to take care of it.A president with a functioning sense of history would know better than to make such a joke. The Mexicans have some sensitivity about such things (as does most of Central America). If Our Blabbermouth in Chief can't do a better job of diplomacy, he should shut the fuck up and let the professionals do it.
The Cheeto Jesus seems to like to brag about his major electoral college victory (a lie, as it was not remarkable) and the size of the crowd that turned out for his inauguration (another lie).
He's acting more like a Third World dictator than the president of a functioning democracy.
Let the professionals do it? How? He fired all of them, & replaced them with another amateur, Tex Drillerson (& some other players tbd).
ReplyDeleteBesides, why should he care about the Aussies? Do they have any oil oligarchs?
They have a mining oligarch, some billionaire heiress who was griping because the workers at her mines in Africa wanted to be paid $2 a day.
ReplyDeleteThe Aussie's have already been talking with their neighbors and China about a new TPP with China in the American role. Australia is actually a quite important market for China and China a top supplier for raw materials and other goods to Australia. We may have just pissed away Asia.
