New Year's Bangity

Colt Detective Special, circa 1978:


It's an auction gun. From the description, I expected something pretty ratty, but it was at a price that I would have willingly paid for a snubbie Model 10, let alone a Colt. Frankly, I was astonished that I won it.

It was dry and stiff, but some fresh oil cured that. There is some freckling on the sides of the hammer and some holster-wear on the front edges of the cylinder and the muzzle. Lockup is solid.
