After 127 years as a nonprofit publication, the National Geographic magazine has joined Rupert Murdoch’s 21st Century Fox as a part of a newly expanded joint venture.Right. Does anyone not believe that Murdoch will bend the magazine's stories to suit his agenda?
The National Geographic Society sold out to the forces of ignorance and anti-science. There is no other way to put it. It would be like the AMA selling its journal to a practitioner of witchcraft.
I suppose that next, he's going to try for Scientific American.
I'm really not surprised - given that they have had so many reality shows on their TV.
ReplyDeleteIt's a damn shame.
Ah, the old maxim:
ReplyDelete"If you can't put a stop to science, edit it."
Yours very crankily,
The New York Crank
Scientific American sold out to the Glowball Warmenatizing crowd a long time ago.......So did Nat Geo. They've both been a propaganda rag for the past 10 years or so.....
ReplyDeleteI grew up reading both, and they were real, actual, science based mags. Not so anymore.
Better Murdoch than Bloomberg, sweetie. MUCH better.
ReplyDeleteScientific American? No . . . more likely Hustler. Can you see the headlines? "A side of chimpanzees you'd never even imagined before!"
ReplyDelete:-)
Bloomberg, Murdoch, Bezos, those clowns who were buying the Tribune papers, every last one of them are evil fuckers who are buying larger megaphones. Not one of them has a care about the craft of journalism.
ReplyDeleteNext edition of National Geographic will feature an article about dinosaur saddles, complete with a painting of Jesus riding a dinosaur while clutching a Winchester lever gun.
ReplyDeleteSIGH.
