It's Nice to Want; Gunnie Edition

A new .45 Luger.

There are a few videos of the gun being fired, but this is the only one which shows the entirety of the gun.

I imagine that this gun is to Glocks what Lear jets are to Cessna Skyhawks in price, but it sure would be fun to shoot it in a PPC match.

  1. My father came back from WWII with a Luger and a bushel basket full of 9mm Parabellum. Much fun and when the basket was empty, the gun got passed along.
He was also in a MASH...or more accurately, in an Evacuation Hospital, which is what there was in WWII. Took him to see the movie when it came out....*he* said that that was the way it was....but crazier. Some on that here:

  2. Georg Luger's first model was chambered for .45 in an attempt to gain sales to the US Army, which didn't happen. It was modified to 9mm at the request of European military.

  3. I think the first model was a 7.65mm.

  4. I think Montag's referring to the .45 Luger that was submitted to the competition for the US Army handgun, and lost out to the 1911.
