that the 2020 election was stolen, or

When an arriving flight is in the vicinity of the airport, the crew calls their airline's Operations office on the radio, "Acme 1234 is in range".
ReplyDeleteThat tells the ramp folks to start getting prepared, there'll be an airplane to park / gate / unload / clean etc in about 10 minutes.
Oh dear! "On range" would be a little homier, at least.
ReplyDeleteAt least none of the departures say "pull."
ReplyDeleteWhat do they use for Triple A at the Providence airport?
ReplyDeleteVannevar, OK, but that was a public status board, not something where the ramp rats could see it.
ReplyDeleteVannevar has it right, as for why to list it that way on a public board...perhaps so those in the know understand the plane is less than about 20 minutes out?
