Couple of Economic Views

Paul Krugman points out that the conservatives have been wrong about the economy all along for the last several years. So why are folks listening to them now?

Robert Reich posits that no amount of stimulus will help the economy because, thanks in no small measure to the inequalities promoted by the Republicans, the middle class is tapped out. Worker productivity has topped off, the hours that workers work can't go much higher, nobody has a second spouse to sent into the labor market and so on. Even when people are working, they don't take vacations. But point this out to the rich and they feel all put upon, they really do.
