Since part of my job involves aiding law enforcement investigating healthcare fraud, I completely understand the need for the dental police... and since podiatriac insurance, medicare and medicaid fraud is one of the top categories of healthcare fraud, I can understand why "the foot doctors" would want sworn officers on their board.
ReplyDeleteHealthcare fraud is a huge drain on the system, so I understand why the various regulatory boards and agencies desire trained investigators with law enforcement backgrounds.
