A blog by a "sucker" and a "loser" who served her country in the Navy.
If you're one of the Covidiots who believe that COVID-19 is "just the flu",
that the 2020 election was stolen, or
especially if you supported the 1/6/21 insurrection,
leave now.

What, No Zombies?
Seriously, though, if there is a risk of civilization collapsing, don't expect people to do anything about it. Between the Wingnuts' screaming "junk science" and the Talibvangelists (like George W. Bush) hoping that it brings on the Apocalypse, political paralysis will be the order of the day and nothing will be done until it is far, far too late.
Those people born between 1925 and 1965, by sheer-ass luck, may have lived during the best time to be alive. The future might royally suck.

COMMENT MODERATION IS IN EFFECT UFN. This means that if you are an insulting dick, nobody will ever see it.
Born almost in the middle of your 4 decades and I'm not sure I'd agree. I'd like to understand why this would have been the best time. I mean I know why now may not be the best time - totally unnecessary actual war, war on drugs (and I quit long, long ago), world economy blown to crap, idiots killing compassionate, humane doctors, no health insurance (and it's usually crappy anyway)......
ReplyDeleteNeed I go on?
But I'm still breathing and standing so that's something.
I've been saying the same thing-that the good times have done been had.
ReplyDeleteThe GOOD news (if there be any) is that blogs have semi-sorta allowed us to create virtual collectives for mutual survival that can fairly rapidly become REAL collectives, if needs be.
ReplyDeleteand with the ceo of sony saying today he see's no good in the internets your point is so important cranky because this prick and other biggies want it. game's not over.
ReplyDeleteMedical technology, for starters. Before the advent of antibiotics, people routinely died from everything ranging from infected cuts and blisters to appendicitis and childbirth.
ReplyDeleteCheap travel to almost anywhere in the world. Information technology. Communications technology. Even ten years ago, none of us would have been able to read each other's works. This is a great time to be alive.
If I'd known you were looking for glass half full.....
ReplyDeleteI know, "glass half full" is so unlike the tenor of this blog.
ReplyDeleteDon't know if I'd go that far
