What Sayeth the Gallery?

I am pretty aggressive about deleting spam comments. But if a comment refers to a product and the matter is on point with the blog post, is it truly spam?

What do you think?

  1. It's spam. He/she is using the link to improve their page ranking. Plus, to me at least, the comment reads like an advertisement.

  2. Agree with Terrant. If there's no ad link, I don't much care what people say (though I delete tracts that would fill large books). If there's a link to a commercial site, and nothing of substance in the comment (and there isn't here), it's an advertisement. BTW, I came across that vidclip a couple of days ago, and I love it! Watching that fawn unfold is amazing.

  3. My policy is that if the comment has a link to a product in it, and there's not much thought behind the comment, it's clearly spam. When it's not so clear cut, I'll tolerate a one-off comment. If it's repeated, then the commenter's comments get deleted. I've had an occasional commenter in the second category, and one who kept doing it had his comments removed.

I haven't seen the comment in question, so I can't offer an opinion on that one.
