A Really Meaningless Number

10,000 hits, at least since I enabled a statistics app.

#10,000 was from IP 67.151.241.98 in Lincoln, MA.

The number is meaningless because a lot of hits are from folks looking for pictures, which the Google-bots find and index. Then there are hits from anyone who is using my blogroll as a way to avoid cluttering their browser with bookmarks (there are a few blogs that I bookmark for that reason, because they have really neat blogrolls). And then there are the oodles of hits I generate every time I post or edit a previous blog entry.

So while the number of hits might mean *something*, it has about as much relationship to reality as does whatever metric du jour that Stupie Mcfuckwit is using to proclaim: "No shit, we really are making progress in Iraq, I'm not kidding this time, honest injun!!!"
