Micro-Insanity

On the left is a .45 cartridge. On the right is a 1-gigabyte thumb drive.

To someone who started in the PC world when a 10Mb hard drive was hot shit (and cost $600) and when everyone was dreaming of the day when memory would drop below a buck a megabyte, this is almost insane. That drive cost a little over a penny a megabyte.

I'll bet somewhere, somebody has figured out how to put one of these things into a false tooth. Who needs Minox cameras and old-style spy shit when you can just dump the contents of a hard drive onto a tiny gizmo, cram it in your mouth and waltz out the door?

    No false tooth needed. Just put it into an acid-proof capsule and swallow it. It'll come out the other end in a day or so. Hmm, I need to use that as a plot point in one of my novels...
