Lieberman's campaign ran a cash slush fund; over $350,000 sort of disappeared into various unknown uses, which suggests to me, at least, that the Lieberman campaign was doing all sorts of illegal shit. That Lieberman agreed to cough up $50,000 to make the charges go away tells me that there was some really nasty shit being done on his behalf.
Remember how much umbrage Sleazy Joe displayed over the Lewinsky Affair? That was over Clinton getting some strange and lying abut it, which to my mind, is a little less serious than diverting a shitload of cash to illegal uses, let alone conniving at the use to torture and other war crimes.
