If you believe that exporters and exporting countries pay the cost of tariffs, then you are the Addled Ancient Autocrat, one of his die-hard supporters, or you're an imbecile. This is how tariffs work.
Tariffs are a tax on Americans. The importers may eat them, in part, which decreases their profits and their return to shareholders (something that the GOP seems to care most about). Eventually they get passed along to consumers and the effect is, well, depressing.
But don't expect to hear anything about it from DasGov, as the Old Obese Orange Blowhard is firing anyone who reports accurate statistics.
Expect to see that the Feds will say that inflation is 1%, the unemployment rate is -15% and 243% of Americans approve of the Administration.
This will not be fun to watch before TACO.
