Everyone is going on about Texas corruption, but Utah has long been a hotbed of sweetheart deals, backdoor payoffs, and complete corruption. I always call it the absolutely corrupt Utah Mormon republican legislature, following the saying absolute power corrupts absolutely. Utah republicans know they'll be re-elected because the Mormon church claims that voting for a Democrat makes baby Jesus cry. The fiscal corruption applies to this kind of thing too, gets a little handsy with the young girls (or boys)? Just confess to your church leader and claim you're sorry, and suddenly "all is well, all is well." The whole church was built on Joseph Smith, the prophet and founder, claiming god told him to take extra wives, including teenage girls. It's a nest of corruption and perversion, but they cover it up with sickly sweet sheen of "Jesus wants me for a sunbeam" and totally get away with it. That's why trump* is still so popular here.
